Black Poetry : Deferred, Indefinitely

Your words describe the void I see separating Black people from their oppressors. We lack the security produced and maintained by true community. We do not treat one another as other civilized nationalities treat each other. We've lost our once deserved attributes: Truth, the Loyalty of Brotherhood, and numerous principles and codes of conduct worthy of the righteous rewards of freedom and independence of both Thought and Action. "Where I give you all of me," an open declaration that I want for my brother what I want for myself. And you being worthy of my dedication, are justly "[t]reat[ed] ... like royalty," because you live according to a moral code developed from within our community.
