from, "The Woman In My Attic"

don't you dare write another love poem
for someone who don't really love you
don't you waste a single drop of precious ink

All I'm saying is just "think, girl.... think!!"

I know...I know the imprint of his touch
left a stain that covers your entire soul
and ain't that just the way?

in your head for months on end
    ....caint show thru, today...

& you feel like every time you dip your pin
    in the smear still moist
from the last time he was here...

the longing in your words might ... what?
    pull him near?

don't you dare write another sentence
don't desecrate the alphabet with begging
    and pleading

this once, keep your self respect... & deal with
    what you're needing

my guess is, it ain't a man
who first of all ain't yours, and
    won't be true....

it's high time you show some self-respect
write for the love of you

Always the counselor. I've been trying to lay on your couch for many a year, Ms. A.... and this woman in your attic is as wise as they come. I must make her acquaintance as soon as possible. I like her truth, her wit, her realness whenever she speaks. And rumor has it that she even gets in the mirror and talks to herself, sometimes.

Could there be any truth to that, Ms. A?

ps yes, I've been in the archives... :)

wish I could counsel somebody...I'd start with myself, and then, my brotha, I'm afraid there would never be any room on that couch for anyone else.

...and oh, in every rumor there is a bit of truth somewhere :)

gul u better make room on that couch

you are truly where you are supposed to be if you have reached an nderstanding such as this right here. if all young women could understand that there are degrees of love and there is a hierarchy (God, themselves, erybody else) the world would be a better place. but enough of my optimism, that right there was the bomb, and i can't wait to listen to the woman in your attic again.

WRITE ON MY SISTER, WRITE ON!

Always speak the truth no how hard it is for some of us to hear it. The words you speak/scribe open doors to peoples minds where the lights are off and the lamps are covered with colorful scarves and the illusion is still not escaping them..GO TELL IT ON THE MOUNTAIN....
    BLESSINGS ON YA HOUSE!:toast: :toast:
