    Hello Family,

I've been watching this program on the discovery channel ... The Deadliest Catch or Job in the World ... or something like that. It has men (i've seen a couple of women on the boats too), that catch alaskan crab in the bering sea. The conditions are dangerous, cold, and stressful it seems. They had 5 or 6 boats that they followed on this program, comparing the catches, trials, etc., of each. In the end, the boat that had the most crabs after the 5 day task, earned over $300,000 and was able to give each deckhand (approximately 6 - 10 folk) about $20,000 for 5 days and nights of grueling work. The boat that brought in the less amount of crabs, was able to pay their deckhands about $10,000.

One thing i've noticed in watching this program ... is that there is not one Black person ever on it.

It seems like a small intimate group of men on each boat, maybe 8 - 10 folk, so i guess they know each other and stuff.

But again ... wasn't no Brothers out there! Do we need to get a boat Family?!

Anyway, they claim on this program that this is the deadliest job in the world.

What do you think is the deadliest job in the world?

Yes this is the worlds deadliest job. No we don't need a boat. Black folks like me hate the cold. The combination of being cold, wet, fatigued and sleepy just don't sound to appealing to brothers; not for that little ammount on money. You'd be better off on Fear Factor. At least you get $50,000.00 for three stunts....

    Peace....

 It's hard for me to believe catching crabs in cold water is the world's most dangerous job.

I would think cleaning a field of land-mines, or being a reporter in a war zone would be among the most dangerous.

Its the deadliest because alot of men are in this job and die each year. Yes, clearing land-mines can be deady, but a lot of people don't die each year doing it.

watch the show sometime and it's easy to see how one mistake can cost a man his life. Certainly not a job I'd want my husband to have.
