You meant something to me
More than you’ll ever know
You were the very beat of my heart
The very sound of joy

You were “it”
At least for me
You were the one
Who had swept me off my feet

I mean it was like I didn’t see love coming
Coming in my direction
You and “it” took me by total surprise
But in a good vibration
Which I hadn’t felt in a long time

So whatever the price was
I was willing to try
Even if it cost me my dignity
I didn’t care
The only thing that really mattered
Was having you there
There by my side

I felt you could do no wrong
Even though the whole thing
Was just selfish on both of our parts
I mean you had a girl
And was starting a family

And I had nothing to lose
Which made me wrong to have
what wasn’t mine all the time
Cause for a moment you were
And it was at those moments
Where I gained my strength

My strength to keep loving you more and more
And never shutting the door on what I thought you and me would grow to know
See I loved you with out a doubt
But the sad thing was
You were the one with the doubts
Doubts about what our love could become

And over the years as we began to grow
On the road of bliss
It became a one-way street
To a dead end love affair

Which I never realized to start with
Cause all that mattered
Were the moments of us
And although those moments came short and few
That was what I needed to make myself think
That “this” thing we had was okay

But that point in my life has passed
And thankfully before I crashed
I realized that I could no longer travel with you
On that road towards …….

A dead end love affair
