    I like soft ebony cushion
    Mama black china doll
In de cool nights I blow my horn
Singing de sweet low goner be back home, de drums play at the end of night, I put my fancy dress on my back
Slick my head down with mama fat back, de barn yard is full tonight,
Goner sing black china doll as de Negro’s watch. Down in the cotton field
Got to be back on time, goanna work my
Stuff mama gave me, gone find me a free man, Cause my auntie name is Harriet I ask mama one day I like be her
    I walked down deep waters.

    I flick the stinging bees
    Cold black deep water
I walk as my warrior auntie
I know nothing about law and order
I walk upon my auntie skirt
    Master don’t have no order
For my black china doll, I too
    Will lead like her
    My auntie a Negro star,

Go black girl the Negro say
I sing to the chicken come home,
Sing black girl said the nego folks
I gona find my way from these chains

I work till sun up, sun down
I goner to break these chains
    All those black Negroes
Lord I one day be like them
    Lord I so happy
    All these black folks hear
    Going to give freedom
    To all black Negro’s that
    Work this land.

    Mama Moses going care me
    To the promise land
    Mama said Chilean don’t
    You got things to do
    Miss Martha want you to
Clean the pig pen in the
    morning for the sun come in;

Goner put on my straw hat,
Put me back on my back
Going be ready at the crack
    On dawn, when the master
    Is sleep, mama don’t know
I goner cross the rail road
    Track, I going to meet
    The silver train that
Goner takes me to the promise land.
Got a big time producer on the Harlem land.
