at the end of the day
when you are loving me
your gentle smile shows a shyness
i am surprised
that such tenderness can still be possessed
by a man

you tell me it's okay to love
you tell me it's okay to trust
you tell me it's okay to hurt

you have patience for me
knowing i am a woman with issues
you know...one of those
who reads something into
every little thing
analyzing and shifting
making sure it doesn't happen to me

you tell me it's okay to love
you tell me it's okay to trust
you tell me it's okay to hurt

what is this thing that binds us
our bond instant, the moment we said hello
we had an understanding
an understanding that reached past layers
and i open like a flower a little each day

you tell me it's okay to love
you tell me it's okay to trust
you help me wipe away the hurt

at the end of the day
when you are loving me
and your gentle smile shows a shyness
i am still surprised that you are here

when the love is in bond
all facts remain
the shyness of one's beings
is a rapture of feelings
yes it's o'k to love
yes it's o'k to trust
and it's o'k to hurt
only to have the pain comforted

it's still a few good men left !
