I'm just finding out about this now. The Karthoum government, who identifies itself as Arab Islamic, is planning a Dam project that will destroy the land of ancient Nubia (cornerstone of early African civilization). Apparently contracts have already been made with Chinese firms.
Slave Revolt Radio: Destroying Ancient Nubia
Interesting enough, the zionists are usually the agents behind this sort of propaganda. And let's be clear about this: this is nothing but propaganda.
First of all, there is no such thing as an "Arab Islaimc government" in Khartoum. The proper name for the regime is the Islamic Republic of Sudan. There are Islamic republics in several places. There are the Islamic Republics of Iran, of Pakistan and some others. None has much to do with Arabs. Of course in Africa, there are and has always been many Arabs. Arabic is an offical langauage of the African Union. Too many of us fall into the propaganda trap because we do not know that Islam is an African religion. So, we associate Islam with Arabism.
Also, we must keep in mind that there is an Islamic Movement in the world. Islam sets forth an economic and political program that capitalism and imperialism find threatening. Entirely new banking systems are being developed. There are many things are beginning to happen that will transform the Muslim world including Africa. For instance, it is impossible for Africans to find decent terms for credit in western banks. Islamic banking is an answer to many of these problems. Consider the Grameen Bank in Bangladesh. Muhammad Yunis has recently won th4e Nobel Peace Prize for developing projects to provide micro-financing to small businesses and farms in poor countries, mainly Africa. This is an example of what is happening in the world-wide Islamic Movement.
The fact is Arabs are a very small percentage of the Muslims in the world. The largest Muslim country is Indonesia, not Arabia and not Africa. The largest state formation in the history of mankind was Ul-Ummah or the Islamic "Empire". This included nations on all of the knwn continents at the time, including Europe. The Muslim Africans, mostly Blacks, ruled Sapain for hundreds of years. We need to know our history to avoid being taken advantage of by our enemies.
Now about the ancient and traditional cultures: every time we attempt large-sacle development in Africa, the enemyt begins to spread propaganda about how we are destroying artifacts and such. That is non-sense. If an area is flooded to provide hydro-electric development, the artifacts are covered with water, not destroyed. If people are so interested in artifacts, let them learn to swim and dive down to study them. In the mean time, our people need irrigation. This is why the dam was built in Egypt. The same happened in Ghana. Similar projects are underway in Zimbabwe. The propoganda is always the same: "they are messing up African artifacts so we can't study them". This has nothing to do with destroying Nubian culture.
We need Economic Develoment. Long Live the Islamic republic of Sudan!
