Dirk had to play a perfect game for them to get it done.. 12-15 from the field,
28-28 from the line.. that won't happen again.. even with that performance
from dirk, OKC still could have pulled this out if Westbrook would have made
more of his shots from the field.. He really needs to embrace his role as
"distributor" and stop competing with Durant for the scorer position.. Durant
is a much more efficient scorer.. he has a complete game.. inside/outside..
I feel like every other player on OKC's roster has embraced his role.. westbrook
has got to get back to that triple double mentality of the last series.. otherwise,
we'll be seeing Dallas choke in the Finals again..

Dirk looked real good scary good. Letting Barea get off like that puzzles the mind.....

westbrook was completely out of control.. forcing everything.. Durant is a
mature 22 yr old superstar.. but Westbrook is just a regular talented 22 yr old..
I don't think they can afford to wait until he matures.. he needs to come off the
bench.. they need to land a more mature point guard.. one that is willing to
defer to Durant.. a Rondo type player that looks to pass first.. If they lose this
series Westbrook may be on the trading block. Durant had just as good a game
    as Dirk.. 40 points.. 8 boards, 5 assists, 2 blocks.. 1 steal.. on 10-18 fg and 18
of 19 from the line.. Westbrook shot 20 percent (3-15) from the field and
only had 3 assists in a 112 point game.. Coach needs to sit him and have
Harden run the point.. he's a smarter player.. Westbrook only has one mode..
attack.. and that doesnt work so well against Dallas's Zone.. and if he
cant make the adjustment he has to sit..

not so much drama in the east though.. Chicago swept Miami in the regular
season but folks were shocked they beat them in game 1.. Miami has never
beat this team.. If they can't win with their defense, Lebron or wade have
to drop 50 and win it through offense. I like the Dirk / Durant matchup.. both
7 footers.. basically.. with unorthodox skillsets.. and I like the Kidd / Westbrook
matchup.. the old guard schooling the young gun.. Don't be so sure the East
has it locked.. Dallas and OKC present matchup problems for Chicago and Miami..
OKC split the regular season series with Chicago and Miami.. and Dallas was
swept by Chicago but swept Miami during the regular season.. I would take
the Dallas numbers with a grain of salt though.. they are playing on a
significantly higher level then they did during the regular season..

I usually pick these things by the coaches.. but Chicago and Dallas's coaches
are pretty evenly matched.. OKC is 3rd and Miami is last.. Spoelstra should
have had a 70 win season and they should have rolled through the playoffs..
he doesn't have the stature to deal with three superstars.. they have no
    reason to trust his lead.

They were just outcoached.. never really made the proper adjustments on Dirk..
tried to play him straight up.. but how do you stop a 7 footer that shoots
rainbow arched fall away jumpers? gotta double him.. trap him.. make another
more manageable player beat you.. Barea is just really quick.. only one can
keep up with him is Westbrook and Nate Robinson.. Coach just has to grow
some balls and make some tough decisions..

I thought this thread was about Dallas OKC and here you are pushing the Bullies and over-hyped Heat!

    smh

"Old School take" Didnt expect Mavs to sweep the crybaby Lakers but oops here it is.

I picked Thunder and Bullies in the Final with Thunder winning it all. Yeah that's right. Going with the underdogs cuz of my homie Westbrook who taking alot of criticism but will stick with him because to those who say he should defer to Durant...I agree...but at least he do penetrate and try to take smaller guards to the hole off the dribble while when cold KD take them out of their game by overshooting from 3 point territory. Go back and look at them tapes from the Memphis series game five when KD went ghost.

Point here is that they need KD, RW and Hardin all on same page but still might not have enough strength off the bench to outgun the Mavs.

Whoever win this is cool with me because I like both teams. To those who say Mavs are soft this aint the same 06 squad but much tougher with Tyson Chandler and Shawn Marion a major improvement over the Devin Harris/Erica Dampier squad which only had Dirk, Jet and Stack doing any scoring.

Peja and Kidd are 2nd and 3rd all time 3 point scorers and to those who say Kidd aint got nothing left in the tank well he 1st all time active leader in triple doubles and if the Thunder even think about sitting Westbrook on the bench Kidd would light up any one else because Hardin is not a true point and Eric Maynor just aint got that type of game yet.

Even though I picked Thunder (My initial bracket had Thunder, Lakers, Heat and Bulls in final four) to win it all most likely the Mavs will win this series so I wont speculate on who will win it all until this round is over.
