each day i wake up...
wash my face, brush my teeth
and get dressed up
in slacks and a nice pressed shirt
black timberland three quarters
now dressed and ready for work
alert alert alert
don't forget your mask
that's the last daily task
put it on
secure it tightly
in the daytime strengthen the masks bond
then once home you can take it off nightly
can't have these folks knowing the real me
put on a professional front
that's all they have to see
so each day i leave to go to this ball
where i dance with people i don't like
and i know they want to see me fall
but i have bills to pay
so to fall is not an option
not at all...

maybe next monday i'll go as zoro...

My Mask

we all wear a mask,
for that's what we want folks to see.
like you said,
we don't want folks to get to know the real me.
but when darkness falls,
and light casts her veil.
we know that our mask,
will always prevail,
to tell the tail,
of lives,
whether it be in heaven,
