Exactly brother Clyde,
Although as a people we may differ on many things; however, we must celebrate us whenever possible. I am also thinking of having a Christian celebration or at least an exhibit at the Quilts festival because the fact is the Christian beliefs of our people influenced a lot in our culture, even the desire of our ancestors to seek freedom or fight our oppressors. Oneness!
For sure Blackbird, we have more points of common interests, as a people, than we do differences, so; it should be easy for us to table differences and unite on the points of common interests.
Without a doubt, the early church served as a meeting place to conduct slave business, etc. as well. Nothing wrong with honoring that aspect, along with the Bible became Nat Turner's reading primer, which led to the revolt, yep!
