Personal Experience: Eye am in a meeting and use the term 'hot mess'. Less than 2 breaths later Eye hear 'hot mess' coming out of the mouth of a non-black. I know it was the first time she'd heard the expression. Everyone loves our swag and copies immediately --but do not like US. Don't get me wrong WE don't care because WE know who WE are....
