POSITIVELY BLACK Junious Ricardo Stanton Cultivate Your Human Brain “Physiologically, the human brain is the furthest away from spinal column nerve centers and the major blood vessels that carry food and oxygen. The critter brain gets first crack at environmental stimuli and sustenance because it is genetically designed for base survival. But much nastier, it can and will respond to fantasy fears and threats the human mind makes up as if they were real. And if the primitive part of our brain thinks survival is at stake, it will take all the biological energy for itself. Yes, it can grab it all first, and turn off all our higher mental capacities.”- Reptilian Behavior and Business, by Russell Giles “The Cerebral Cortex makes up the uppermost and outer part of the brain. Although it is destined to reach its full level of function in humans, its full functional attainment depends of cultivation (culture). Its function is to receive the program that we need to civilize the two lower parts of the brain. Presently, the majority of western scientists believe that this part of the brain comes “hard wired (ready made)” to perform such civilizing functions. But sophisticated studies have shown, confirming the African teaching, the this part of the brain can only control the lower when programmed with the right kind of information.” Ra Un Nefer Amen from An Afrocentric Guide To A Spiritual Union p.15 “The neocortex evolved last of all. It corresponds roughly to the idea of an ego, or an adult. From the neocortex we get the skills necessary to make peace between the reptile brain and the mammal brain. From the neocortex comes the ability to forgive and to temper justice with mercy. From the neocortex come reason, and memory, and logic. From the neocortex comes intellect. We need the neocortex to understand the Universe.”- Elizabeth Hensley Our African ancestors, the first humans to walk the earth, developed the mechanisms for survival but also highly refined civilized behavior, collective governance and harmonious relationships by discovering and understanding their own holistic make up, physically, emotionally, psychologically and spiritually. Throughout Africa what Dr. Jacob H. Carruthers refers to as the “Deep Thought of basic Africa” manifests a deeply rooted emphasis on good character, ethical behavior and uprightness. At the core of indigenous African culture is an obligation to cultivate and maintain harmonious relationships and congruity between humans, the physical world and the spirit realm. This was no accident, it was the result of millennia of cultivating the multi-faceted human nature and character. Careful study of indigenous African ethnic groups reveals an almost intuitive recognition of the importance of regulating attitudes, behavior, human interaction and the maintenance of an acute awareness and connectedness with the divine life force/energy which permeates all creation. This is not the consciousness of a backward savage, rather it demonstrates a cognizance of a capacity to fathom the importance of integrating and developing the physical as well as non material aspects of the human make up. In fact African conceptualization of human nature reveals an awareness of the material/non-material dualism/integration/interdependence Caucasians have yet to grasp. Africa produced the first written systematic approach to cultivating the highest character in the wisdom texts and so called “Mystery Schools” of ancient KMT (Egypt). These teachings aren’t relegated to the Nile Valley its just that the inhabitants of the Nile Valley left written records for us to see and use. Carruthers or Person, Divinity and Nature A Modern View Of The Person & The Cosmos In African Thought by Chukwunyere Kamalu to glean a better understanding of African genius and deep thought. Looking at indigenous African cultures we see they placed immense importance on good character, ethical conduct and relationships and those values were cultivated through the family and interpersonal interactions. This cultivation and training encouraged their more developed human brains to gain dominance over the reptilian and mammalian parts of their brains. This is why it is so vital to revisit and relearn our ancient African ways. Caucasian culture is primed to destroy us by debasing us to a purely reptilian level. The more we attempt to assimilate and acculturate Western culture the sicker we become! Western culture, especially AmeriKKKan society, induces incivility, promotes and glorifies the basest elements and predatory behaviors. If we are to regain our humanity and develop to our fullest potential we must formulate an African based pedagogical/cultural system to develop our human brain and cultivate its ascendance over its baser reptilian and mammalian parts.
