Land of the free; Home of the brave
A country known for freedom and yet we started out as slaves
I mean look at our community
    when will we find unity?
It sucks knowin the whole world thinks we're dumb
Becuz we have the highest dropout rates with the lowest income
We see too many people leave quite often
either in handcuffs or in a coffin
Doesnt it get old or exhaustin'?
Arent we tired of bein lost in
    the repitition
    Sittin
    like crabs in a bucket
tired of bein variables in the experiments that are conducted??
I know its hard because they'll always feel
like we're the 1st ones to walk in a store and steal
becuz we're the 1st ones to pitch to the block and deal
powder, herb, and a high in the form of a pill
    But lets be real
we're smart, but all they see is crooks
but they should know by now never judge a cover based on how it looks
We'd probably do alot better if we had enuf teachers, supplies, and books
they say birds of the same feather
    flock together
and we're slowly, but surely growin and gettin better
Now we have people of color as lawyers and doctors
Im glad to see Denzel and Halle finally got their oscars
Now we've got to use that as an inspiration
So we can see more African Americans in our legislation
Maybe in years to come we can have a black president
    Becuz its evident
the man runnin this country couldnt run a race
Its obvious his heart and his mind is in the wrong place
He's helpin the people that already live in Bel-Air
But what about the single black mothers on welfare
He spends too much time on Iraq
But what about the war in the streets of the blacks
What about the black on black violence
We need to reelect new government officials n retire these tyrants
But of course our voice is never heard
Call it cliche, but we're living in a white man's world
Becuz racism n segregation still exists
    But we can overcome this
And we will, but I refuse to believe in society's bullsh*t theory
So if this is what freedom feels like... then F**K LADY LIBERTY!
