Roxanne, Again

Guest
Corner store choirs
Holding their desires
From the crotches
Of their Pants
Singing alcoholic hymns
On bended knees
Gamblin'
Praying
That btych seven comes
The Young
Old men chant
Can't see pass
Selling somebody's
Sister's
Mother's
Auntee's
Daughter's
Thought she was his
Lover
Just some
Come up
Ask any
Corner store choirs
Only desire
Aspire to
Make Black dollars turn
Illegally earned
The Hustle is learned
Even if it sho' nuff
Be a crime
Ghetto congregation
With no paid vocation
Long ago
Lost their souls
Goals?
Only to escape doing time...

Nice
