http://www.fightnews.com I didn't tell the family about this fight, because I wasn't sure that it would be worth watching. Only a hardcore boxing fan could watch a John Ruiz fight. He is literally the most boring fighter I have ever seen, and most boxing fans would agree with me. His boxing style is to land a jab, then clinch for about 15 seconds until the ref seperates him....then he will land another jab, then clinch again for about 15 second until the ref seperates him again. He repeats this pattern (sometimes substituting a right hand for a jab) for 12 rounds. I only tune in to John Ruiz fights hoping that he will get KTFO by his opponent. Most of the time he wins, and I fall asleep in the process. Last night he fought James Toney, a former middleweight champ in the early 1990s. Toney was a vastly superior fighter in terms of his skills; however, he isn't the most exciting guy to watch either. Surprisingly the fight was better than I thought, and I loved the outcome. I'm not the biggest James Toney fan, but anyone who beats Ruiz is my main man! For anyone still interested, HBO will probably replay the fight sometime tonight.
