    congratulations
    we did it
i'll pat you on the back
    " dat a nation "
but there's no confetti in my eye
and patriotic songs in the sky singing
    praise and adulation
    resounding
over the clinks and clubs of
    disproportionate incarcerations
    of black boys
    "shhhh, quiet. what's
    that noise
    in Jena??
the 6 still look for Justice

    ~ have u seen her ~

let's party like we did at our
    high school graduations
    and relive over and over
    the fascination
    of our first black president..
set the confetti launcher off and
    cover up the political, historical
    and educational emasculation
    of our black men
    while they do us in
with their corpo-rate interests and tax equations

( they told me "f!ck all dat, poetofhosts, it aint that deep!! ")

but love and truth are real
unlike wam-bams, bust it babies and infatuations
    people plan on going through
for a two- term Obama gratification
    when you don't give him
the help of our whole community
    while steady streaming that
salty a/ss confetti on the back of
    our lacerations
    like single-parenting
    black women and HIV
and black men who choose not to be free
b/c freedom to them is only a broken imagination
so they say f!ck the inauguration

    against
    regular rhythmic calculations
    my heart beats in revolutionary
    palpitations...
look at the launcher in the sky
and you might see ashes wastin'
    from the flag
    you're at no ordinary convention
    you're at a gas station
    and
    i have matches waitin'
i'll shred and slash a nation
    to keep balance
between a movement and a celebration-
    b/c they still
    want ur black a/ss slavin'
    no matter
    your past and future dynastic
    kingdom classification

    confetti in my eye

Realize the reason for celebration, but don't let it blind us to our current situation. Brother j'hiah this was off the hook...Speak!!!!

we shouldn't be blinded by the confetti. l'm happy as hell but we should never get thwarted and sidetracked from our issues.

    just_dat_nice,
    yes you are. thanx.

    So'ja,
many of us are, though. i would hate to think that most of us are.
    peace and thanx.

    lovealexandria,
    thanx queen.

    Rashad,
we have to more than ever now.
    thanx.

    LURK,
    it's real.
    thanx.

    watz,
you summed it all up queen, poetess through whom gems flow.
    love and thanx.
