    Coming soon - mind-reading computers

LONDON (Reuters) - A raised eyebrow, quizzical look or a nod of the head are just a few of the facial expressions computers could soon be using to read people's minds.

An "emotionally aware" computer being developed by British and American scientists will be able to read an individual's thoughts by analyzing a combination of facial movements that represent underlying feelings.

"The system we have developed allows a wide range of mental states to be identified just by pointing a video camera at someone," said Professor Peter Robinson, of the University of Cambridge in England.

"muscle reading". we do it all the time. gonna take one heck of a bunch of computer power to do that ... like most of the tech wasted on weapons research/testing ...

the saddest bit is that ain't nobody gonna be able to afford it.

boy, they are scrambling for any little straw to try to keep them afloat. watch out for that chicken!!

The military has had a program like this running for years. It allows a plane to take evasive action based on a pilots expressions to a threat. So if he sees a SAM coming, based on the pilots bugged eyed expression, the plane automatically tried to get him away from the threat.
