    Can’t take it any more
    Need to come out
Need to tell the world what I’m all about

So many others just like me
    Have taken the step
    To be honest with themselves
    To be brave
    To be free
To be what they believe themselves to be
I look at them and ask
    “Why not me?”

    No need to hide
    What I feel inside
    Nothing will change
    Not much will be new
    I’ll just be out there
    With the things I believe
    In what I do

    Though the numbers are growing
I’ll be part of a minority
Not favorably looked upon by black society
    But I don’t give a ****
    I’ve got to be me

    I’ll not be popular
With this way I choose to live
    In this society
    It is not easy
    Being a Black conservative
