They said that death was shaking in between us
    Some bitter-sweet remedy for our...selves
Like holiday elixirs and vitamin B tablets
Death in the midst of life bargaining with itself

Yesterday I was the Summer sun rising
To kiss butterfly lips floating with wind
    I heard... no one
    While the children lay...lying
    Except the sound of death
    Shaking us in mid-air

“We are all the prisoners of war”

    yes...
sometimes it creeps in on tiptoe
sometimes it blasts out of the clear blue sky
    sometimes it lingers
    sometimes it is quick
    no matter the way
    death comes.
