You do realize, that once they pay, they wont owe anything. It will open season again
If there will ever be any reparations how will the money be divided? I don't want to have anything to do with the majority of African Americans. We have different views and different beliefs, for even now there's billions floating around in our community every year and not one billion is spent towards building anything that would make us a competitive group amongst the world's population. No bridges are made internationally with any other group, there are some who make such efforts and those I would be willing to unite with on conditions. Yet I don't see reparations as having any affect other than causing more family feuds, the money will never go into the hands of those who would spend it wisely and Whites will make sure of that.
Thanks bro. oldsoul, this seawater deep piece presents a fresh outlook on why Reparations are do us ...
"Reparations on gp, come on and bring on the Reparations."
Same thought I've had.
I wonder, how much does everyone expect them to pay for such labor of our ancestors?
Admittedly, I've never talked about reparations much at all, but I've been thinking on them more.
Our community has to first learn how to handle money before we're given money. Our community needs a definitive line of who's apart and who's not. Our community needs incentive to spend the money within the community, and not give it right back to caucasians. It has to last for, at least, as many generations of labor they beat out of us, for it to mean anything at all.
Does anyone agree?
Yes, I agree, we must begin to have that conversation. In fact, recently, I played my position on Reparations, as given on Conscious Plat's BlogTalkRadio show in CrispyChat one night, which resulted in good dialog covering all the points you posted, and more.
More than conversation, but getting on the ground and teaching brothers and sisters how to spend what they have to move forward and not backward.
That's having conversation.
It can be, yes, but just conversation? No. Getting on the ground and doing, showing, being an example. There's more to it than conversing.
there will never be reparations.
because as soon as anyone mentions the word a bunch of black people jump up and start talking against it.
'we have met the enemy and he is us' - pogo
