We have many brothers and sisters all across the global
We need to be able to speak to them.
So more then one language should be known
We can unite as one

I had a very wise teacher who travel to many lands
Those she was a history teacher she was a philosopher as well
She spoke to us in Spanish and French during our history lesson
She may the chore of learning become a joy and a welcome event

As we learned about our cultural though more then one language
Everyone in her class always got a (A) and 100 percent attendance
And we were all so surprise when they said she could no longer stay
The CEO of the Broad of Education. Personally threw a pink slip her way.

A large percentage of our teacher was laid off from our school
So sad to see the ones who left. Were the ones who students they taught excel

Before she left the classroom. She gave each one of us a hug.
That was before it was made against the rules to touch students.
She said to continue to grow and excel in our lesson.
She smiles as she said with pride that she sees the leaders in us.

She said that it is very important to grasp and find out who you are
That is why she because a teacher of history as she was still searching near and far.
And to learn to speak in many languages so we won’t seem a stranger
To our African brothers and sister who live in other countries

I was so lucky to have this teacher so wise and kind in my life
And we all learned and continue to excel. We wanted her to be proud of us.
So yes learned to speak in more then one tongue
It is so strange now, because they are now teaching Ebonics.

I look and wonder why. The directors of our education
Choice to teach us something other then plain English
I guess the way to stop communication is though the public school system
So make it an unwritten rule teach yourself if you must

A lesson I learned from a very wise teacher.
