A colored girl like me got dreams and aspirations but all you wanna do is smother our determination
A colored girl like me can see the hate you have inside
even though you smile it is in your eyes
A colored girl like me will struggle to succeed go through all adversity just to acheive
A colored girl like me had to nurse your childred from birth, no I am not your mammy, I am mother earth.
A colored girl like me, A colored girl like me , A colored girl like me is so much more that you think you have seen--even if you dont look past my skin I will still be Queen.

YET A SPRAY OF DARK BEAUTY LIKE
PEARLS LACED AROUND THE RUBY AND
SET BELOW THE DIAMOND
THATS WHAT I SEE IN U .....FLOW HEAD ON!
