    I glamorize my essence,
the facade is only a mask.
But in reality I'm that entity
    That's running from his past.

That glamour shot for all to see,
but they took away the mask.
Now you can see straight through me'
    I'm the color of glass.

No longer can I hide like a rat in a hole,
    that longing to be heard.
Screaming out what’s inside of my soul,
    but never saying a word.

Free as a bird trapped in a cage,
    my insecurities keep me confined.
Bound by this rage that keeps me enslaved
suspended like a moment in time.

Can you hear me? Do you feel my pain?
    Is my silence spoken aloud?
You see, isolation is never a problem
when you feel alone inside of the crowd.

You play the part, you joke, you laugh
    you smile and you pretend
that life is tasting oh so sweet
when it is at it's bitter end.

You disregard all of the pain that you feel
    your confusion is reality
    Your perception is real
Not being able to free yourself
You walk through life as someone else.

You wear the mask because you are afraid
You’re forced to live in this masquerade
wearing that facade like no one else can
the inner child in search of the man.

They took away the mask from me,
    they took away the mask,
now you can see straight through me
    I'm the color of glass.

    Transparent in all I be
    they took away the mask,
now you can see straight through me,
    I'm the color of glass
