    Whites Like Powell.

You Can't find a better military Mind.

Unlike most republicans he showed some humanity and remorse about the war.

His statements latelty such as; "I will vote regardless of party" and, "we should focus on creating wealth for all people in the world" .Suggest that he is more to the center.

Another black man in line after obama.

He would balance the ticket with his extensive foreign policy experience.

He has praised Obama of late.

    He is smart.

He came out in support of Afirmitive action when the con-servatives tried to end it.

    Cons

Whites may be apprehensive about voting for two Black men.

He did support the war before he opposed it (sound familiar)?

    He is republican.

IMHO i think he'd be a great pick.

Many years ago Andrew Young put it all on the line to do something Jimmy Carter refused as president to do, acknowledge the existence of of the Palestinian people, and shine an international spotlight on their suffering. He was fired for that act.
Even in "Nam" there was such a thing as battlefield justice, every brother didn't just go along with the desire on the part of white soldiers to violently dispatch the people frequently referred to as "gooks".:em2700:
Colin Powell failed his watershed moment, I would never support him.

I'd say no......At the end of the day Colin has a longer record for being in the favor of conservative politics more than anything else. I haven't been watching the news the past couple of days, but is Obama really considering Powell as a running mate?

Maybe if he was the republican choice. If Obama picked him, the ticket would be too dark for white folks to stomach.

Interesting choice but Powell is a republican and I doubt he would change parties.

Well he said he was voting this year regardless of party. He also is disgusted with the republicans and how they played him for the fool concerning the war.
