NFL threw money at anthem problem, but new policy will lead to more contempt from players

... “The NFL chose to not consult the union in the development of this new ‘policy,’” the NFLPA said in a statement. “NFL players have shown their patriotism through their military activism, their community service, in support of our military and law enforcement and yes, through their protests to raise awareness about the issues they care about.

New York Jets chairman Christopher Johnson said he won’t levy any fines or punishment against players who eschew the stay-in-the-locker-room part of the policy and kneel or visibly protest during the anthem, and will pay any fine the team gets for such an action.

Then it came out that San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York abstained from voting.

Players who don’t like anthem rule can take immediate action

    Mike Florio
    ProFootball Talk on NBC Sports

The NFL’s players can make their displeasure known by boycotting OTAs. Technically (but not actually), these ongoing offseason workouts are voluntary, there’s no requirement to be there, so if the players aren’t happy with ownership right now, all they have to do is nothing ...

Players who don’t like anthem rule can take immediate action

In the aftermath of Wednesday’s decision by the NFL to alter the anthem policy in a way that managed to do more harm than good, the NFL Players Association wasn’t happy. The NFL’s players can do something about that in a way that is far more...

‘Meet The Press’ Panel Says NFL Anthem Protest Decision Could Hit Courts

... The discussion was led by President Trump’s reaction to the NFL move, “I don’t think people should be staying in locker rooms, but still I think it’s good,” Trump said, “you have to stand proudly for the national anthem; or you shouldn’t be playing. You shouldn’t be there, maybe you shouldn’t be in the country.”

‘Meet The Press’ Panel Says NFL Anthem Protest Decision Could Hit Courts

A panel of pundits on Sunday’s NBC News show Meet The Press said the National Football League’s decision to insist players on the field stand for the national anthem could be decided by court order. The NFL decision this week came in response to...

Sorry about that, Bro. SOA, it worked for me. But here is a snippet:

"The organization has received a donation from the National Football League, which is trying to end a protest movement by many black players.

The National Football League -- beleaguered by protests from players during the national anthem and boycotts from fans who have taken offense -- reached a financial agreement last week with a group of activist players organized as the Players Coalition. Per an agreement with the group, the league will
donate $89 million over the course of seven years to causes committed to social change for African-Americans.

The United Negro College Fund -- a group founded in 1944 to help fund scholarships for students attending private institutions among the nation’s historically black colleges and universities and a recipient of some of the earmarked money -- is receiving a fourth of the donation, and some are criticizing the UNCF's involvement."

Very interesting read, thanks much NNQ. Speaking of the National Anthem, maybe Colin could seek advice from that racist sow belly pig Roseanne Barr on how to ruin a song like she did and got a solid gold pass.

    I never liked her.

In reality, who is really SHOCKED by Roseanne's tweets? ABC's decision to act swiftly by canceling the Roseanne Barr Show, was strictly a business decision and nothing more.

She represents the worst of America...she's one of its racist poster children. Barr is demonstrating that there is a growing crack in the American Dream bubble and the virus that is within, is seeping through the crack out into the public for the world to see her true colors.

But, Roseanne is just the latest to hit the news media. Truthfully, we've been seeing this type of stuff happening for a long time, to the detriment of Black people. Remember the prominent radio personality, Imus who, in the early 2000's called Black women athletes at Rutgers "nappy headed hoes and jiggaboos"? MSNBC fired him too. Then there was Paula Deen, the former Food Network personality who also made racist comments about Black people. And when these people see their actions causing their money to be flushed down the toilet, they apologize...claiming they were just trying to be 'funny.'
