Judge dismisses debate lawsuit filed by Gary Johnson and Jill Stein
    August 5, 2016

Libertarian Party presidential candidate Gary Johnson is vowing to keep fighting after a judge dismissed his lawsuit against the Commission on Presidential Debates.

Johnson and one of his rivals, presumptive Green Party nominee Jill Stein, sued the commission last September, alleging violations of antitrust law and the First Amendment.

Johnson and Stein are seeking spots on the all-important presidential debate stage this fall.

But federal judge Rosemary M. Collyer threw out the lawsuit on Friday.

"We are exploring our options," Johnson campaign manager Ron Nielson said afterward, "with the firm resolve that this case and the larger issue of fair debates are too important to simply allow such an arbitrary dismissal."

    ...

But Judge Collyer said Johnson and Stein's antitrust claims "fail as a matter of well-established law." And she said the First Amendment argument did not apply because the commission is a private nonprofit, not a government entity.

"the commission is a private nonprofit entity"

Another reason why money and elections will always be connected.

Just to make this clear for those who haven't been paying attention for the last 16 or so years, the Federal elections are commissioned in secret by a private nonprofit business.

So ask yourself, who has oversight of the FEC?
    Nobody...

Three Repugs and Three Demons, anyone else is a non-factor.

So when it comes to any challenge for another declared political party to be involved in the theater of the national debates, the unanimous consensus is to reject the inclusion of such.

The pResident agrees to select candidates to fill in and replace commissioners that essentially do nothing when it comes to voter protest and claims of fraud.

If the FEC is a non-profit private entity, do they not get paid in connection to being appointed to these positions, and if so, who pays them?

Seen... but not really sure what one is saying.

Giving a tiny bit of credit that Jill has essentially forced their hand in giving her and her VP selection a public forum, since there is no nationally televised media showcase of the "independent" committees.

Even if these maim stream media outlets are biased and unreliable to offer balance content without satire or spin 90% of the time, the 10% of the time is what we have to work with at the moment.

But we will see how they engage with Jill and company, and hold reserve judgement until then.
Heck, the Green Party may just crap the bed on their own without any CNN slant or agenda.

To be honest (didn't really want to say this, but meh) Jill Stein has a rather weak talking voice, and it's just something about her supposed passion that doesn't translate into an eargasm of motivation, like with what a Cynthia McKinney had in 2008.

CNN may be rethinking their idea of allowing the Green Party a public forum

Wow, I was thinking the same thing as I watched her being interviewed by CNN. Not a very powerful voice. I then questioned by should that matter but my thoughts went to foreign affairs and it made me wonder how leaders of foreign nations would perceive her because of her soft voice...as a weakness? I mean she doesn't have to sound all beasty and like she has hair on her chest but power is oftentimes equated with how much bass you have in your voice. AA women tend not to be "soft spoken"...especially when we need to make a point. It's like we have megafones in our throats, you will know what we say and that we mean it. lol Well, Hillary can talk loud, too. But what the heck is wrong with her tongue?

It may allow for others to talk over her in a way, but it seems her patience and intelligent responses can override that.

As for Hill, maybe that's just where she had her tongue pierced... there have been "stories" about her "escapades", but that's for another topic.
