I'm a Georgia Peach!!!!
Occupation
working to own my plus size empire.....
Civil Rights can somebody explain that to me
Can you honestly say were free

Do any one know the meaning
Since we seems to tear ones' down which is demeaning

How can you love your own when they hurt you
Spit in your face, beat you down calling you a fool

How can I call you my brotha
And then get mad when a sista turn to the otha

Hmmm please tell me what im missing
Seems when a sista cross the line all get to pissing

On a sista because she felt abused
Been torn by our owned and left confused

Civil Rights was fought before we was born
Seems like the movement was torn

Martin Luther King said he had a dream
When white kids and black kids will sing

Did any of ya'll criticize that and say he's crazy
At least him and others stood up didnt remained lazy

Lets say no Martin, no Malcom, no Parks
All of us right now will still be in the dark

Yes we would still be colored
White babies sucking on your mama as if they was udders

Yeah its funny but what if nobody gave a d@mn
Would you get mad if for one more night you ate spam

Because people accepted being the lower class
Our parents out here scuffling busting their @ss

You eat or sit down when they are through
Can you believe it dont want to hear the truth

Some of us just seem to go on and not respect
Some of us dont want to take the time to reflect

The Civil Rights' fighter wanted us to have a chance of equality
Martin, Parks, Malcom all showed some fine qualities

Why didnt ya'll protest and say sit down Boy know your place
I guess he got tired of the Man spitting in his face
And all wanted to get a taste

Of what it is to sit at the counter, be able to vote, be able to walk in as a man
And this is why Martin said white and black will walk hand in hand

Because he knew that in time all races will come together
And it sickens me I cant count on my brotha to shelter me from the weather

If he was here I wonder what he would say
That racism, injustice, degradation, discrimination, is amongst us till this day

It aint the otha race who throw it in a young sista/ brotha face
It sad to say its our own race

So I ask again can anybody enlighten me and tell me what are my

Civil Rights..................

Nevar, I appreciate the question you've raised. As Americans our ever dwindling rights surpass those of peoples around the world, as it relates to freedom. Freedom of speech being but one example. Don't wait for anyone to define, or uphold your civil liberties. Everyone has a responsibility to be aware of their civil rights. The U.S. Constitution, which guarantees our rights as citizens is now under attack. There are those among us who would love to silence and enslave us. Peace, Baby.
