Civil Rights Leaders Confront Korean Store Owner Who Choked Black Woman Because He Thought She Was Stealing

Sung Ho Lim, owner of Missus Beauty Supply store in Charlotte, NC, is confronted by the Black community after he attacked a Black woman who was shopping in his store.

Charlotte, NC — Members of the NAACP and the Nation of Islam (NOI) recently confronted Sung Ho Lim, a Korean beauty supply store owner, after a cell phone video of him and his wife choking a Black woman went viral. Located in Charlotte, North Carolina, their store, Missha Beauty, mostly sells hair and skincare products for African Americans.

Ho Lim has accused the woman of attempting to steal eyelashes and has even filed charges against her, but the video footage does not show this at all. The video starts with the woman saying, “Check my bag. I’m telling you I don’t have it.” Next, Ho Lim and his wife can be seen attacking the woman, wrestling her to the ground, and then putting her in a chokehold.

I hope she doesn't let this go. People protesting on her behalf. She has to show up.
The store owner seems to know wher she lives, if he plans to apologize.
I read another article that said the eyelashes cost $3.99.

    Remember Latasha Harlins?

And, imo, the beginning of the animosity between the AA community and the Koreans.

A fifteen-year old African American named Latasha Harlins entered Empire Liquor Market on South Figueroa Street. That day, Soon Ja Du, a middle-aged Korean immigrant, was working at the store. She was there because her son Joseph, who would have been working that day, stayed home. He did so because of threats that he had received by members of the Crips gang after agreeing to testify against them in the wake of a robbery attempt. In the store, Du accused Harlins of stealing, and an altercation between the two led to Harlins punching Du and knocking her down, after which Du shot Harlins in the back of the head. Harlins was later found to have had juice from the store in her backpack and money in her hand.
