    Bruthas and sistas, I feel we are letting our devotion to our particular faiths, and beliefs get the best of us. We are a strong,intelligent, and passionate people. We shouldn't let religion draw us into behaving in a manner that diminishes what we have to say, or stop us from spreading the knowledge. We can have our opinions while at the same time being respectful to others and what they believe in.

    I have my opinions when it comes to religion,and if I offended anyone with my comments, I apologize.

    I some times don't agree with brutha Chinelo, but I do have an open mind, and I do learn from his postings because of it. I said that to bring up a thread of his where he has videos of Dr Clark speaking. The Dr. made a comment that rings true. He said that we have to come together and no let religious ideologies separate, or drive a wedge between us.

    We should apply this in all topics.

    I look at this site as being family, and I care about family as we all do. So when debating religion,try and remember we are family, but with different opinions.

    Peace!

    And you know that his closest friend El Haj malik Shabazz repeated those words, in "The Ballot or the Bullet", the point is now after 50 years, has that message sunk in, to heart?

    At some point is has to, what is the alternative? It has been shown that with unification, many things can happen.

    Brutha Nix..

    You know religion is the one common factor that seems to run through all of human history.(I know you got this bruh, and you're on point with it) There is no record of a human society that existed without some form of religious belief and ritual. So is it time to discard religion and consign it to the abyss of history? What is this compelling need to believe? Why does this attraction to religion seems to be a universal trait? IMO, I think the answer to this can only be found by examining the history of the human species. The actual origins of religion are lost in prehistory along with the reason for it's original purpose? Now when I say "original", I mean the "primeval". So with this in mind, I say religion must have developed simultaneously with language some 50,or 60 thousand years ago when Homo sapiens first evolved the ability to speak.

    Peace!

    Brother Enki ... i'm with you, and believe too, that we can do it.

    That we can have substantive, respectful discussions, about religion and all other things as well.

    I also feel like you, in that we have no other choice, if we're ever to get to the next level.

    Thanks for being here trying with me and us! :love:

    Love You!

    Thank you sista Destee. I made this thread because I saw a post that threaten another member over his comments. It was about religion, and I just felt that it was a bit much to issue threats over opinions. I know it may not seem this way but I do feel on some level, we are all on the same page, speaking the same language. I fight for this site and the people on it because it, and they represent me.

    Peace my beautiful sista.:grouphug::grouphug:
