the near north
i waded through
chrysanthemum filled
fields of
rolling hills
where
peaceful valleys lay

i heard the call
of springtime morning breezes
as sunshine's light
gave bath to me

i walked beneath
waterfalls of flowing skies
'til engulfed, was i
by a sea of darkness
that sucked the light away {from me}
i could not see

step by step
i felt my way through
broad forrests of grasses
that had me
gasping
in the absence
of light

as the morning sun did rise
again, i waded through
chrysanthemum filled
fields of
rolling hills
in a peaceful valley
where the sun rays play
and beautiful grasses lay
