Black Poetry : Christian Poetry

:wave:Greetings and Welcome Sister Cherryblossom!

Your poetry is very inspiring and beautiful!:hearts4:
I'm going to move this thread to the poetry section,
as we do attempt to keep things in its proper catergory.

Sometimes we may read a discussion that inspires us
to express our creative thoughts in the discussion forums,
but this leaves management with the extra work of moving
and placing them in their respective forums.

Please don't let this response discourage you in anyway.
We'd love to continue reading your wonderful creativeness.
we just ask that you help us keep things in order.

Thank you for sharing so much of yourself, and Welcome to Destee's!:couple:

Purple, you are so sweet......................................................................................................................................................to others:).

"At The End Of The Day"

The majesty of beautiful Sunsets,
Oft times, begets
A somber review of regrets
Birthed by unfulfilled debts
To myself and others
And yet
Its glorious spectrum
Also sets my soul to hum
While I thankfully succumb
To the grand sum
Of mercies and blessings,
My daily assessing
Of what IS more than what isn’t

Yes, before I peruse where I may have been remiss
I’ll remember God’s divine set-in -the sky promise
And, I’ll remind myself as I reflect on my day
That Rainbows don’t contain the color “Gray.”
So
When the next sunset I see
And I’ve wistfully sat and pondered
Over what time I may have squandered
I’ll just let my mind recall an old gospel hymn
Which brightens what once was grim

For no matter what’s left undone
No matter how far the race be run
And may, in looking back, cast a dark pall
I’ll remember to mark the times I get up
And not the times I fall

Indeed, insignificant are the darts
Which seek to destroy
I’ll just look UP and count it all JOY!

Yes, the next time I see a sunset
When my work-day is through
I’ll sing, “I may not have done all the things that I wanted to do.”
And, before one minute of it I survey
I’ll raise my voice and confidently say
“But, Lord, it’s been a mighty good day.”
