    A God/ess sits tattooing truth
In Sanskrit on torn, linen parchment
    Back permanently arched in sorrow
    Streaming tears from
    The Sudan to Sierra Leone
Somewhere in Darfur a liberation army
Is liberating black souls from black shells
    Leaving smoking shells
    Trails of riddled flesh
    Under burning skies
Somewhere on the Ivory Coast a 5 year old girl
Is being liberated of her labia
    Clitoris carved away
In the name of sadistic ritual
    No anesthesia to ease
    The agony
    Her secret to possessing joy
    Stripped away
In Haiti young women are stripped
Forced to copulate with their fathers and uncles
    At gunpoint
    Entertaining wicked makoutes
Who will spray rounds of death
On villages where the hibiscus blossoms
    The ground glows red
Fertile for the farming of brittle bones
In South Africa rape runs ramped
    Repetitious acts of violation
Triggers the creation of condoms with barbs
    To protect virtue
    Sunday morning found me
Grieving for the people in Senegal
    Men, women and children
Forced to choose to have an arm or hand removed
By the military to keep the repressed from rising up
    In Uganda AID's epidemic
Decimates the state of a people
Whispers that the government used them as guinea pigs
    Genocide by bio manipulation
Blood diamond conflicts in Sierra Leone
    Disgusted as I watch BET
Wondering how much innocent blood was spilled
For those ice studded nooses and grills
    Borders burning, bodies dropping
    Between Eritrea and Ethiopia
Flashback 12 years ago to Rwanda
    A murderous mosaic of death
    Tutsis and Hutus
One millions souls scattered on blood drenched back roads
    No government or UN intervention
    Tensions and dissensions
    Ignored
Yet daily I receive email petitions
Pleading for the President to take action
    PleaseMrPresidentpleasemrpresidentpleasemrpresident
    The people are pleading
While the Motherland and its Diaspora are bleeding
Do we actually expect this soulless muthafucka to do the right thing?
When he is too busy doing right wing Ringling
    International circus of chaos
The cost for freedom is overpriced
Like life in this whore of Babylon
    Crying and complaining
    My rent is due
    My mortgage is due
    My car insurance is due
    My bills are due

    Do…do…..DO something
Besides sitting idly by watching people die
Don’t send me another gotdamn petition
    Cuz the God/ess is sitting
    Ticking the time til
    Armageddon
Tears streaming from the Sudan to Sierra Leone
All I can offer is poems
    Adding tears to that ocean
That separates me from my Mothaland
My pain connects deeper than these brown pores
Through blood, breathe, spirit and struggle
    From Afrika to American shores

yea, let's take a look at that.

I am so glad you posted this piece.... So many true statements and commentary it was like CNN in verse. We need more.

Excellent, witty write. Brilliant points indeed.

This eloquent piece reminds us of all the heinous acts that are happening to our brethren, that their tears are our tears. Dynamic scribe poetess.
