*I wrote this one several years ago but a recent thread topic made me think of it.*

I saw a Brotha' give a Sistah his seat on the train one day
It was a bright, sunny date in spring-time May
He had on earphones and a cap
That was with dark, sunglasses topped
And, to his music, his head nodded
    See-sawed and be-bopped

    He was just as happy
Standing and holding onto a pole
    As before his own comfort
    He did so unselfishly dole
Out to a Black woman so that she
    Could relax and repose
And with no hesitation or remorse
    He, promptly rose
Never ceasing in his stationary dance
    Or missing one syncopated beat
    He never said a word
But only smiled as she thanked him
In this, a first and, perhaps, one-time meet

    He was clad in Khakis
    And a company-monogrammed shirt
    With thick, stand-up-all-day shoes
    On his feet
    He was blue-collar attired
    But was clean and neat
And my heart was made glad
    When I saw this
    Tired-from-work Brotha'
    Give a Sistah his seat.

there are a lot of us out there...who care...who dare to do things like the old folks do...like we were taught to do...to be a man...to show a sistah we can be there for her when need arise...without all the lies.

THANKS...for give true bruthaz their PROPERS, cherryb.:)

there be many like me...doing things the way they were meant to be.

    our rivers flow freely
