It breaks my heart to see innocence lost
Young people jaded by what they think is life
    Growing up so fast
    At a dangerous cost

    Young brothers and sisters
    So eager to be grown
Missing the joy of being temporarily young
Missing out on all kinds of kids-stuff fun

So rare to see a gleam in a child's eyes
That silly unbiased laughter only they have
Few and far bwetween are their cry for nothing cries

I miss seeing children as children should be
I miss dirty little hands and untied shoe laces
    Chocolate smeared on wondering faces
Little hearts beating pure and free

Has society forgotten children are different
No, they can't raise themselves by themselves
There should be no pressure for them to be adult
So many things for them to know and be felt

    I love children
    Especially black ones
    They dominate my prayers
More sooner than later they'll say "remember when"
I pray they stay children for as long as they can

    BE

So true, so beautifully said...children are so innocent and impressionable. I love your flow.
