The sky was gray as I stood on the hill
The smell of violence and the smell of kill
The sound of horror and loud screaming
It is the only place the sun is not beaming
A park of swings where no children will play
For I stand next to the graveyard where most of them lay
I see all of the drunks lay all over the valley
And the ambulance is down in the alley
Poor children living a life of silence
With horrid homes filled with violence
Blood is splattered on the street
And a child who lay there that has been beat
In my dreamss I hear children crying
Living in a alley that is somehow dying
I see the blood on the walls all over the valley
And the ambulance is down in the alley
The sun won’t rise in a place of horror
The children cry and the parents beat some more
Living in a family with a father who's a drunk
And a mother who smokes a lot of junk
The hospital is full of children abused
And many are still home being bruised
I see shadows of death in the valley
And the ambulance is down in the alley
The graveyard is full and there will be many more
If the abuse does not stop in this horror
Rain pours down from all the tears
That God sheds for people’s fears
    Defenseless children can not play
For in their abusive homes is where they must stay
I see a place of horror and a lonely valley
And the ambulance is down in the alley
I see a cry for help among this place
And fear from a child’s terrified face
At nighttime the moon is gray
Like a horror movie I saw one day
Poor children who don't own a toy
Because the parents won’t buy things for the little boy
I still see the loneliness in that valley
And the ambulance is down in the alley
    Careless children, fresh as sin
And some have forgotten what it's like to grin
    Children suffer, burned and bruised
From poor parents who themselves were abused
    Violent anger on their minds
Make them beat on any child they can find
A pool of blood lay all over the valley
And the ambulance is down in the alley
The abuse is increasing day by day
The valley full of pain and the sky still gray
A little child in a corner is what I find
And visions of the abuse still haunts their mind
Horrified children and all over lonely valley
And the ambulance is down in the alley
Blood in the alley and a child in pain
Somehow this world has gone plainly insane
Nobody will help or try to prevent the abuse
No one deserves this; there is no excuse
In the village down in the alley
The ambulance is down in the alley
The pain and suffering has gotten out of hand
The poor children can't even stand
Some in wheel chairs and more in a casts
And some just trying to forget about the past
Some do not know how love would feel
Some are scarred for life that will never heal
Screaming, yelling, the sight of the around the valley
And the ambulance is down in the alley
Think about all the problems the world must face
Please stop the abuse in this horrible place
Poor children who may never see
What a wonderful place this could and should be
What I am trying to say is think of their pain
Do not think of your problems and complain
Unless you have visions of the valley
Because the Ambulance is still down in the alley

    Sad but true...

This vivid picture of the many defenseless children, suffering from the trickle-down effects of their parents. It's shameful just knowing that so much abuse exists in society today.
~Praying for both the parents and the children~
Much thanx for the reminder, one_Luv, that while we sometimes complain of things in our lives, that by far, weigh out to be less trivial than the one's lived, by those of abuse.
the truth you scribe here, keeps yah honest, humbled.
    Excellent Poem! Jyntl

    Awwww...

I think I'm gonna cry. This piece has, such, a saddening effect; but it is just so true. Its horrible to think about what, some, can do to their loved ones in fits of anger. Very well expressed. I feel you on this one, poetess...

I totally agree with you. Children are our future. No body should be beat! Thanks for the reply
