It was never his intent to kill her
He said he wasn't aware of her heart's susceptibility
And she, weakened, had no perceptibility
Of the quick, deep cuts and stabs he made
As with every withdrawal, he sharpened his blade
For the next attack
Even in his fevered frenzy
He had no idea
That he'd even drawn blood
For, it was inside that the flood
Coursed through her core
And as each corpuscle tore
She bled from the inside, out
Drowning in her own pain and self-doubt
Hurt, misery, and misplaced trust
(Hacked to pieces)
By his own self-hate and twisted lust
All because she tried to heal him
But he was angered
That her inner light made his more DIM
And, for that, she had to pay
Always pushing her away
While pulling her to stay

But, it was never his intent to kill her.

but that she would stay

...and play
russian roulette
with her every desire
...that the fire that burns within
might heal the gushing wounds that
midnight and noon finds
freeflowing in its need to give
...to live beyond her desire
twice fired
still
she returns
for the blood that churns
within her soul
i'm told
is that blood that nurishes his fire
for life is that liar
that feeds to keep her strong
but love doesn't last long
it just last strong
and that strength goes
on and on
'til that pinch becomes a crack
and that crack, an open well
'til every blood cell departs
THUS
hemorrhage of the heart

but that she would stay

...and play
russian roulette
with her every desire
...that the fire that burns within
might heal the gushing wounds that
midnight and noon finds
freeflowing in its need to give
...to live beyond her desire
twice fired
still
she returns
for the blood that churns
within her soul
i'm told
is that blood that nurishes his fire
for life is that liar
that feeds to keep her strong
but love doesn't last long
it just last strong
and that strength goes
on and on
'til that pinch becomes a crack
and that crack, an open well
'til every blood cell departs
THUS
hemorrhage of the heart

So, instead....

She walked away.
