He caught me by surprise
I wasn’t looking for him
I don’t even think I wanted him
At first
Then I heard his voice
His words flowed over me
Through me
Under me
Bounded over the wall I just finished building
Around my soul
And then I looked into his eyes
And I melted
Like warm, thick butterscotch
And to make matters worse
His lips found mine
In a gentle embrace
Our tongues dueled for dominance
Our lips fit
Like that 1001 shaped picture puzzle piece
In a box of 1000 that’s left over
And our souls found comfort in the warmth of passion
Instant heat
Instant attraction
Instant …….
He caught me by surprise
Snuck up on my blind side
His blunt honesty
His direct approach
His devil may care attitude
Called to my stifled soul
Like a trumpet
He caught me by surprise
And made me lay all my doubts and inhibitions aside
He caught my by surprise
I wasn’t looking for him
But he was looking for me
And the surprise of it all
Here I am …with him
Cause he caught me
By
Surprise
