    That day was not about
    Buildings tumbling
Ending in an unimaginable pile of rubble
Not about the safety of air travel versus cars
That day was not a statement of political or religious beliefs
Nor was it a figment of our imagination

It was a declaration of war

I shed a tear for every soul

    The casualties of war
Far out weigh the means of destruction
    Children without mothers
    Daddies
    Covered
    Smothered
    Crumbled
    Former figures of towering strength

I shed a tear for every soul

    The casualties of war
    The brave
    the meek
    The strong
    the weak
    Fathers, mothers
    Husbands, wives

I shed a tear for every soul

    The casualties of war
