    Can ya feel me tonight?
As I dance away these dreams gone wrong
And the Ipod shuffles another song
The soul inside shouts from swinging hips
and I circle wide to make a dip
    Open arms commanding energy
    casting spells with synergy
Feelin' the truth of my life story
    told in lessons of allegory
In the subtle glow of dim red light
my solo performance in the night
I dance it away... dance it away
and save my life another day

    Can ya feel me tonight
    All the dancers that Rize
to fill up the emptiness that resides
from project housing to the house
    on the hill?
The rhythm that got in 'em
    is curing our ills
Tribal memory such a sweet design
    DNA - dynamic natural ability
    evolving with time
    concrete jungles or desert sand
    plantation salvation where we stand
    a divine ascension utility
is what I feel inside of me
    the spirit pounds
    to the beat of sounds
    that gave us
    knowledge of ourselves

    Can ya feel me tonight
    my lover who went astray?
I patada my legs as if to say
    it's alright that your gone
Jah Cure plays our anthem song
Burning brightness in my eyes like
flames of Isis it resides and a
trickle of sweat that cools me and slides
    between my thighs
as I enter an ancient trance that
    takes me high

    Can ya feel me tonight?
    Our daughters and sons alone
    street child soldiers
    that can never go home
cuz corporate junkies have taken the nest
and now there's nowhere for you
    to lay and rest
Justice and equality have not been yours
And society feels a right to scorn
The single mother, and the prenatal child
into seclusion and poverty by calling them wild

    Can ya feel me tonight?
Our very existence is a thorn
    to their side
Like Jesus of Nazareth our blood
    didn't satisfy
Didn't satisfy their greed, didn't fill their hypocrisy
and still won't make their story sound right
I said to ya all, can ya feel me tonight?
Can ya feel me cry without tears
scream without voice to drown out the fears
    of defending against accusations,
    and accepting wrongful justifications
    to the perpetrations within and
    against us?

    Can ya feel me tonight?
As I resist the urge to rest
    cuz tonight I must confess
in every vibration is the wrong I sought to make right
and every tribulation ended up a lonely warriors fight
Can ya feel my frustration as my head rolls from side to side?
Can you feel my love as I pump the shoulders with pride?
I said can ya feel me?

Sisters dear, you're all I've got
in this world that we will face
    there's a terrible plot
to unravel our families and take away our kin
but no one is penalized and not one repents the sin
of ripping the babies from our breast
so Newsweek can report the internal unrest
With Angelina and Madonna to raise our seed
this is the evil that insanity breeds
that make good seem bad and bad seem good
and politicians excuse us with "if only they would...."
If only they would learn to act right and by that they
    mean adopting whats white
If only they would submit to the plan
of master's dream for the promised land
If only, if only.... there was enough public funds
to pay for the return of the prodigal son
I say if only Jah, or Ra or Mother Supreme
would return tonight so our inner dreams
    can unleash and take flight
the dream of nations that ought to be
recognized, redeemed and above all else
    economically, politically and socially free

    Can ya feel me tonight?
    Launching a new beat
    my body engaged by heat
and I can feel the presence
of Osun as she carries me
    from penche to plie
    so gracefully
    I swirl like the Dervish
round and round in the dark
    a prayer of pulsation
    a goddess sensation
    to somehow find their mark
and as the digital music flows
from within my heart I hear it go....
I feel you..... I feel you....
    Sister, I feel you.....

So eloquently posed, what I feel is such pride witin each line, and a determination to see us rise, despite it all. Fabulous write.

    Whoa....

I feel you Sister. I feel you deep, strong and high.

Tear canals stinging and throat throbbing with pain.

With this poem I have made it through another day alive.

I bow to you, a Creator, who has Created a work of art such as this.

    Peace.

    One.
