    hey brother what's up........
    I said what's up......
see that's the problem with us right now
black folks refuse to communicate or maybe just
    don't know how
all is takes is a head nod straight up
    or a raised balled fist
like power to the people blak pantha style
    guerillas in the midst
or just a simple "hey" ,sister
"how ya doin, brother" type reaction
    not some roll your eyes
    and neck type dissatisfaction

..."i ain't trying to hit it,
    or spit it to you
    some nickel slick ******
type way...just "yo sis have a nice day"
    type ****...a "take care queen"
in a soul cool brother type verbal riff

    see that's our problem right
    now don't want to communicate
but rather wait and debate if
you need to relay a reciprocal answer
this "we hate each other ****" is
    eating our souls like cancer
like 'caine burnt up jo jo dancer

our lives are calling my people
get out into the streets and edify
    someone you don't know,
    smoothe like sade, will downing,
    or rap that **** like
    kurtis blow.....

    speak that **** in
    creole, gullah, swahili,
    "ebonics"

    what up
    what it b's like
    how you b
    what you know good

    Habari gani

How are you doing in your anal tone if
    your a gray brother
what's up dude if your a surfer brother
what up my dawg if your a hip hop
    brother
what's up homie if your a back in the day type brother
God Bless brother if you're a god fearing brother

shake my hand if your a deaf brother
feel my hand if your a blind brother
(read my **** palm it says 'what's up)

    just communicate brother
    sister
    maam
    mister

so we can begin to break down
    what so woefully
    sickens us

    peace

yo' blak...what's up, my brutha? i be baller. glad to meet ya.:)

seriously, though...when i was in new mexico, there was a saying among those of us who migrated there: you can always tell a native...because they'll cross the street to keep from speaking to you. whereas, a non-native will run up to you just for the chance to speak to a brutha/sistah. THERE WEREN'T A LOT OF US THERE.

    THANKS for saying it, blak.

Considering that every contact communicates something weather deliberate or inadvertently, and so we might as well choose to be positive.
    I enjoyed the read
