Can u forgive me right now
    And have a little patience
Truthfully I am shedding my skin
    I was never a snake
    Never tried to be fake
Right now I don’t know who I am
    My intentions are good
    Most days I am calm
    But I only recently found
    I have an ego
    That won’t let me go
And it strike’s when no one is around
    Confused and conflicted
    I‘m trying to evict it
Cuz it definitely ain’t payin no rent
    Don’t like how I feel
Dug deep to see the deal
Inner struggle got my energies spent
Who is that voice that lashes then mumbles
Who’s the other voice saying please remain humble
    Your kindness in my anger
    Was a blessing to me
U exposed what needs removed for my spirituality
I know the Most High is in all creation
And I saw him in u through our last conversation
I’m leaving the old me behind to move higher
So I hope u forgive me while I put out this fire

Surprising isn't it when we have an experience that brings out something unexpected and negative within ourselves? Liked the way you explained this poet, right on point.

I'm ready to have every guy who's ever hurt me read this.....the idea of forgiveness is beautiful if not entirely difficult, it's the most honest confession of true character....something else that is a true indicator of character is a willingness to examine oneself. I figure if you can, with honesty, examine yourself enough to understand that you are in need of another's forgiveness you can call yourself a person of character. I felt that poem.....it speaks on a deep level.....well done

Thanks Yasmyne. It feels like the deepest mystery is ourselves, always something new around the corner.

The old internal struggle. Well it happens to the best of us, but you definitely got what it takes to elevate to a higher level. Very Nice Piece!
