No one has seen God. No one has heard his/her voice. No one knows anything about the Creater accept what they choose or are trained to believe. We go to war and get in arguments trying to prove whose truth is the true truth. When our concepts of God are all based on belief, culture and personal experience how can there be a false god? What makes my experience any more or less real than someone who has a different experience?

I saw the video about Akan and Christianity. The god of the white man is so appealing only because he has the guns and bombs to make it appealing. When you let it be known that you will stop at nothing, when you let it be known that those who cooperate will live and those who don't will die and you have the power to make that decisionn you can make people believe in the Purple Turkey if you want to.

Ones own experience isn't seen as less real, because once you've experienced it, it's done, it's reality. However, people judge based on whether they believe another to have perceived their experience correctly, with eyes to understand what's happened. If they believe they've perceived wrong, then they are not going to believe they've judged correctly in accordance with our Creator.

Many have seen and heard the Father. Many know much about His Way and His Being; to state they don't is to now declare their experience to being less real when they've stated they have done these things, and that's hypocrisy if one would be upset that others would do the same to you.

To answer, yes, there can be and are "false gods".
