With so much going wrong
A Black family
can make it right

A father who speaks
with so much pride for us
Reminding that our great
history, should never be a mystery
and thus

With so much going wrong
A Black family
can make it right

A mother whose intentions and
actions speak quite loudly
For she welcomes so many into
her heart, the ancestors within beam proudly

A daughter who echoes what her father says
and what her mother does so well
Her voice rings of the strength and the promise
that only the hope for our future can tell

With so much going wrong
A Black family
can make it right

A husband, so full of life's passion
A wife with the demeanor of a queen
A child with an aura of all that is genuine
Together, no negative force can wedge in between
their love

And the warmth each of them exudes...
So intense, it can make a glacier melt
A deep sense of family lights a flame in their very core
With each and everything they touch, that warmth is felt
all the more

With so much going wrong
A Black family
can make it right
And I am so blessed, you see,
that such a family, touched me
So, this is my way of saying,
Thank You!

Thank You!

You thank me? ...Yet I thank you more
cause I smiled like a catus when I walked in that door

My heart start jumping, like fish in the sea,
that you traveled the distant, just to see me
and the bond that connected is eterenity.

Believe it or not...but I'm speechless at this point,
I'm still in a daze that you appeared in that joint.

I felt like we're known each other, for many many years,
It took everything inside me...to hold back the tears.

I have but only one regret, that troubled my mind,
Is that before very long, we ran out of time.

But I am ever so graceful, that our lives did cross,
and we made it happen, regardless of cost.

Thank you Queen wazt, for feeling safe in our zone
My hearts always open...and so is my home!!

True Sister HopelisRomantic, the spirit that embodies our people is so strong, thank you.
Queent...and you respond back with such a heartfelt flow. A connection like this doesn't happen always, and when it does, well, you have to nourish it. I have to thank you a million times more, sis. :)
Rich, words can fail us when we are so overwhelmed by the bond of family. Thank you.
