let me cast a cloud over your hopes and dreams
'bout reindeer flying snow sleds...and santa things

this is a story...'bout (MY) beliefs
    in a make-believe world that shouldn't be

    let me see...

    there're kids being told fairytales
    as if they were true
    'bout easter
    halloween
    and, yes, christmas, too

they're told about a midget man
who slides down chimneys as fast as he can

    understand

    we lie to our kids
    you know it's true
    you...lying to me
    me...lying to you
    saying...
    he gives gifts to kids
    throughout the land
    got kids leaving cookies
    ...as thanks for his plan

is this the type of REALism
    we want them to learn
    as they grow...older
    how will they discern
    TRUTH

    some call it christmas
    ...the birth of our Christ
    and claim gift-getting
    is decent and nice

    is that right????

"the stockings were hung by the chimney with care
in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there..."

what have this to do with the birth of my Lord
    "mantle-hanging-stocking-stuffers and greeting cards"

    and what of the reindeer
    up...up in the air
    with gift-filled snow sleds
    flying everywhere

is this what christmas means to you
    commercialized santas and something new

    oh!!!

the gift of giving, you claim, is His
not love of life...but love of this
...this gift-giving thing...with fights in the malls
    conning
    stealing
    free gifts for all

    i feel you

it doesn't hurt to spread cheer and laughter
especially to those kids who spend nights
in a shelter who KNOW GOD is the real
    santa claus

the true messengers of GOD can be referred
to as santa but some aren't even worthy of
    that

    Ok,

YOU SCROOGE! Sorry Baller, I just couldn't resist ;) I agree whole heartedly. My son and daughter's gifts ALWAYS read From Daddy and Mommy. I don't recall my son ever believing in Santa. My daughter, yes, but my son stuck a pin in that bubble when she was about 3 or 4yrs old. I never fed into fairytales. I think that might be some of our children's difficulty in life, getting caught up in fairytales then falling down hard when reality is unveiled.

    Madd Holiday Greetings

    lest we forget...

Jesus tossed the Pharisees/Sadducees out of the Temple because they were practicing THE TRADITIONS OF MAN vice teaching THE WORD OF GOD.

we need to consider what we bring into the Church...in Jesus name.

now, we have churches having Halloween celebrations in the church.
in twenty years, some will say that it's a religious tradition.
that is, if GOD's day hasn't arrived in twenty years.

    hmmm.

THANKS for touching me, MsDliteful One.:)
