Occupation
student, but not for long
Incarcerated,
By the thoughts,
I think.
Constantly throwing me back,
Into the clink.
Mind messages,
Reminding me,
About what it is I lack,
Keeping me confined.
At times I thought I was free,
But it’s like someone pressed rewind,
No progression, but regression.
It left an impression that I belonged,
Back into the broken state of mind,
Depression…
Imprisoned in the ways of my heart,
In which I don’t even know,
As the enemy’s voice tries to form,
My shackles upon my feet,
Within my eyes, the liquid mist,
The manacles upon my wrist.

But there is a voice,
In which concrete, steel,
Ways in which you ‘think’ you feel,
Can’t ever stand…
I hear it!
I feel it,
The shaking of the ground,
I see it,
The crumbling of the walls,
My bondage as it unlocks and falls,
The light of day,
Which was concealed by,
My own feelings, my own resolutions,
Outcomes, conclusions….
Freedom, liberty,
From myself,
From me…
