    We sat down and wept
singing songs till we see Zion.

Our seeds scattered, battered and left for dead
yet we break bread like Jesus ain't left
treading on a lake of chains
    yet we never drowned
    We are too strong.

For too long we were clowned
in a circus of false hopes and hyprocrisy
"But still I rise"- Are you surprised?
Plotting and scheming for my demise
    We are too strong.

    Strong like papa's old whiskey
my fate I can kiss it till i get tipsy
my history is not your story!
    Sorry I know my history
    We are too strong.

    Unite.
    Tonite.
    Shine.
    Read the signs.
    We are too strong.

An ode to all the people enslaved....
