beautifully written love the flava it spin off like a song.
i get it...its like Song of Solomon in the Bible. There is vivid imagery and connotations that maintain a semi-creative tone, but behind the veil express a sincere yearning for an erotic adventure.
Stanza #2 was my favorite:
two shades darker i soar
bareback on butterfly
the stars riding my hips
my moves punching through clouds
moonbeams tonguing their light
on my african sway
Thank you, precious. I thought of it as a song when I wrote it. Love my butterfly
Brother Poet NittyGrit,
"i get it" Yes, you do...to my surprise. You know...in all the years I have been posting around the internet...you are the first person to my recollection who took the time to let me know that they realize there is more to my poetry than just imagery. You amaze me. Thank you for taking the time and patience to well...read and truly try to understand my work. I appreciate it more than you know. (smile)
Sister Poet alyce,
I'm going to admit this piece is growing on me. So great hearing from you. Thank you! (smile)
