Butterfly Park. Every year, the county fair comes to Butterfly Park And I would visit and watch the couples there, hand in hand As they shared secret’s that seemed to be Wonderful conversations of enchantment I would sit and watch, the lovers go by Her hand filled with the cotton candy of blueberry swirls He, so delighted in the sugar of she Ran his fingers through her tangled wild curls I was happy for them… although wished it was me So I took in the ferris wheel so that I could see All the love being born below me… Higher in the nights sky I looked down below Saw a Giant Teddy Bear With a big satin bow That he won for she… I was so happy for her But wished it was me. The diamond crusted sky loned it’s ear to me The winds offered their whispers of love High above the fairgrounds I sat Witnessng their love from above. Motionless, I sat Drinking in the love of thee So happy for them Yet wished it was me. The park was filled with children laughing, and singing Funnel cakes with strawberry filling Not so funny clowns… Just laughing at me For coming to the county fair alone, I see Maybe I wanted to drown myself in their love, Let me be! For I am happy for them Yet wish it was me. Tears pouring down my cheeks And in my chest cavity, my little heart beats And beats….and beats…for thee That will not allow my soul to leak out of me But will rescue me from the ferris wheel of misery Bring me down to the ground safely Im no longer happy for them! I wish it were me!!
