I wait patiently for
our encounter
~ the enchanted evening
that we will
for the very first time meet
as dim lights encircle our
night and the aroma of
blue cypress
introduces
us to silence
I search for a hint
of your smile inside
the flicker of
fire shielded
behind the clouded
glass
of a crystal lamp

I envision the event as
such a wonderous
occasion and my own
anxiety takes hold
and somehow gets the
best of me

In my now rainforest
there are essendulums
hanging from
every branch of my
tree of thought--
There are
tea lights held by three
spirit muses
displayed in
artistic awe

I feel the warmth of
you -- with flaming
beauty
love
and well-being
as each characteristic
displays its
own secret meaning

A special blend of
Cistus labdanum
and Rosewood
creates a breathtaking
atmosphere ... one
that I will cherish
until the end of your
arrival
... and I envision
this all as I wait patiently
for our encounter
whenever that time
will allow

Just know that I think
of you each time I light
the lamp... smelling rosewood
and
burning
the midnight oil ...
