Everybody needs a little love sometimes, brothers this one's
    for you

there's something about the way you move
    all slick smooth and seductive
something that whispers as you walk
'come walk with me, i know people and places and things you can't begin to imagine'
    something that beckons me
the siren call of black sand beaches undisturbed by time care or corruption

there's something about the way you speak
that lyrical rhythm slang peppered and spicy
though i try to imitate it when i hear you speak is sit speechless in awe as you tell me 'i'm feelin yo vibe, ma, shoot dem digits my way' it's like the wind through my locks at 4 past midnight
    hot smoky dark and mysterious
who knows where it came from or even where it's going

there something about the way you smile
that glint of white against ebony skin
an upturned lip or full-blown 32 knocking me back
whoo! let me catch my breath if this is what eve's glimpse of adam was baby, i know why she sinned
i'd give almost anything to have total knowledge of you
and believe me i've already given a lot

there's something about the way you flirt
shooting game like there's no tomorrow, making me smile
even though i know everything you're saying has been rehearsed
time worn, learned at the feet of older wiser men, so even when you say 'i ain't into playing games, ma, i'm looking for something real' i know to find my box of salt, somewhere in there is a kernel of truth somehow i forget whether it matters if i find it or not

there's something about the way you fall in love
head over feet all out forgetting mama daddy sister brother
maybe not flowers and candy, but incense and candlelight
cut grass and changed tires, and when you play monk for me
i know i've got you or you've got me or does it even really matter anymore?
something about you cooking morning after breakfast
makes every time feel like the first time
what do i care if you burnt the toast?
scrape it off get the butter

there's something about when you make love
makes me feel like the first woman flesh of flesh, bone of bone
drowning in the depths of the touch the feel not cotton, but the cotton pickers' son
savoring the heat just a moment longer than necessary
my nails digging deeper, just to make sure you are real
but how could i doubt? i couldn't dream you up if i dream 1000 years
you were doing this centuries before the kama sutra

there's something about the way you are
so deep so mysterious so eternal
there's just something about you that makes me love me when i'm with you

    :flirt:

    Thank You

Thanks Blaquebutterfli for this kiss. :flirt:

It's nice when you hear or read about the love a black man and black woman still have for each other. So many have been turned off by the way men can be. We should and most would if they drop the false pride and apologize to the ladies they run over, and leave devastated. I'm looking forward to reading more of your poetry.

    you're welcome

but like I said I have to thank the brothers I know for being the men they are. Too often we only focus on the negative, but I know there are quite a few brothers who are more than decent. Somehow sisters just seem to by pass them. And the kiss is also because I know there are a lot of brothers walking wounded because of us sisters, too. So it goes both ways.
